My team and I provide a unique perspective on coaching with a hands-on training technique.

A one-size-fits all approach to training is not appropriate for every office. We customize our training plan (like a treatment plan) according to your needs. We strive to inspire and motivate our clients by helping them recognize their strengths, set goals for success and achieve those goals.

Our Origin Story

In 2003 my personal dentist of twelve years called asking if I wanted to run his practice. The entire team had just quit and my doctor remembered I was an expert in customer service. The practice was in complete disarray with little or no systems in place, a very high accounts receivable as well as a shrinking patient base due to poor attitudes and bad service from the previous staff.

I love a challenge and my doctor really needed my help so I left my corporate IT job and began studying all the practice management resources I could get my hands on. I read books, I listened to audio lectures and received mentoring from several authorities in the consulting industry. In only a few short years, I helped double the practice’s production, get off their Delta Dental contract (while simultaneously growing the number of Delta patients), traveledl the world for dentistry, helped build a million dollar facility and became completely chartless (in a time when technology was limited for this feat).

I really cared about my doctor and had no idea how difficult it was for him to run his business while being the main producer. We literally spent the better part of three years working together in his practice while spending our extra time attending meetings, classes, conferences etc… This is where my passion for dentistry began as well as my desire to help dentists succeed (and for some… survive). The biggest compliment I received from my doctors is that they’ve never had another person care about them and their businesses as much as I do. It’s hard to explain, but I will save that story for the podcast 😉

After successfully running multiple practices, I found myself needing to be in more places at once so I accepted a role with Patterson Dental as a Technology Advisor. My knack for explaining technical concepts makes it easy for people to understand what I’m teaching. I was thrilled to be able to help hundreds of offices in the San Francisco Bay Area.

In 2010, I took all the knowledge and experience gained from my years in the field, combined it with my passion for coaching dentists around the world and started a consulting company. This gave me an opportunity to work directly with other dental professionals so that they can improve their practices as well as their personal lives.

My Team 

I am extremely fortunate to have in my corner the best group of supporters anyone could ask for. Not only do I have two full-time practice administrators, (Liz and Summer) with decades of experience in managing practices, but also a group of many industry professionals that I regularly collaborate with. Many resources I draw upon are the best in their fields and I am proud to partner with them. (OSHA, HIPAA, ERA/EFT, Websites, HR, VOIP Phones, I.T. to name a few)

Liz

Liz has been working with us since 2016 as our claim specialist and A/R clean-up expert. She has been an invaluable asset to our clients in need of improving their cash flow. Her goal is to stabilize the financial department and put us on track for implementing new systems of growth.

Summer

Summer is our client liaison and our first point of contact for clients who want to work with us. I met Summer in 2013 when she applied at one of my clients’ offices. After I interviewed her I recommended that the doctor hire her immediately, and since then she has proven to be one of my best hires ever. She was able to stay home with her family during the pandemic, and we took advantage of that opportunity to start collaborating on projects together. She plays an important role in our productivity.

What It’s Like To Work With Us

The first thing we do is assess the state of your business. This requires first hand observation as well as collecting data from your practice management software. For a better understanding of the way things work, we must carefully observe them as they happen. We call it “putting a finger on the pulse of your business.”

Tracking

Not only do we review your KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) but we are also looking at the culture and capabilities of your practice. This includes skills assessments of you and your team, leadership dynamics, communication styles, policies and procedures just to name a few. We need a clear understanding of where you are and what got you here.

Vision

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard the phrase “This isn’t where I wanted to be at this point in my career.” Unfortunately when pressed, my doctors are unable to tell me where they actually want to be. Typically I hear responses such as “I don’t know, but not here”. It’s ok if this is you because from this point we start working on it together. As soon as we have an idea of where you want to go we can design a custom roadmap to help get you there.

Urgencies

We need to address any problems existing in your practice as soon as possible. We have the tools and expertise to help you resolve difficulties that are holding your business back. This could mean that you have trouble finding qualified employees or maintaining your equipment, etc. I call this process “putting out the fires”. We can help you overcome your challenges and move on to more positive things.

Travel

Liz and Summer both work remotely while I love to travel to you. While I am based in Northern California (San Francisco Bay Area) as well as Arizona I serve practices all over the United States.
